BBQ Pulled Jackfruit

This vegetarian/Vegan dish is the perfect way to utilize the fibrous texture of the young Jackfruit, a great veggie substitute for pulled pork.
  • IQF Jackfruit strips
  • Olive oil
  • IQF Diced Onion
  • IQF Diced garlic
  • Thyme
  • 1tsp paprika
  • 2tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp Worcester sauce
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 2tbsp mustard
  • 2tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 250ml stock
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Heat a deep pan and add a splash of olive oil.

 Add the onion and garlic to the pan with the diced jackfruit.

cook for around 10 minutes until the onion is soft and starting to brown slightly.

Stir in the spices and cook for a further two minutes.

Add all the remaining ingredients, cover and then simmer on a medium heat for around an hour or until the sauce has thickened.

When it is ready you should be able to tear the jackfruit apart with a fork and the sauce should be thick and sticky, resembling Pulled pork.
